Experience
Research Technician II – Optical Brain Dynamics Lab, Washington University
May 2024 – Present
May 2024 – Present
- Wrote Python code for analyzing two photon, fiber photometry, and other collected data
- Performed viral injections and surgical implants for optogenetic study of mice
- Constructed and fixed lab equipment for experiments (see projects)
- Involved in planning and experimental design of behavioral experiments
Intern – Georgia Tech Research Institute
May 2023 – July 2023
May 2023 – July 2023
- Literature review regarding the current state of the art simulation of atmospheric distortion of light
- Worked in a small team to further a simulation environment in Python for free space optical communication
Projects
Head Fixed Socialization Platform
- In charge of design and construction of updated platform for use on mice allowing for subject initiated social interaction while the head was fixed for imaging
- System logged position and velocity data of a wheel the mouse was fixed above allowing a platform with objects or conspecific to move in accordance with the semi-natural movement of the imaging subject
- Data integrated with two photon microscopy recording of a brain region via a custom pipeline written in Python
Da Vinci Based Robot Arm
- Created robotic motion platform cable of interfacing with surplus da Vinci medical end effectors
- Simple inverse kinematics to control the parallel cable driven da Vinci wrist and to move in virtual x and y axes despite true coordinates being nearly cylindrical
